RECEPTIONIST
Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, setting up new clients and patients, preparation and maintenance of electronic and written medical records, over the counter sales, mailings, computer operation and data entry, financial transactions, filing, and front office and reception area maintenance. Receptionists will assume the responsibility for acquiring the medical and legal information necessary for the medical care of the patients. Friendly, responsible, pet loving people only!
REGISTERED VETERINARY TECHNICIANS (RVT)
RVTs have completed a two year college course at an accredited veterinary technology school. RVTs are responsible for hospital maintenance, assisting the doctors, laboratory procedures, radiology, client communication, medical procedures, pharmacy, operation and maintenance of instruments and equipment, inventory, daily treatment of hospitalized patients, assisting in the operating room and maintenance of the OSHA and Hazardous Materials programs.
VETERINARY TECHNICIANS/ASSISTANTSAssistants are not required to have formal training or a college degree. Their duties include assisting the doctor and/or registered veterinary technician, daily care of hospitalized patients (including walking and feeding), assisting in the exam rooms, and cleaning and maintenance of the facility and equipment. They may also be able to do many of the tasks listed under RVT, depending on the experience and training they have received.
KENNEL TECHNICIANKennel Technicians are not required to have any formal training. We generally hire based on maturity, personality and dependability. Kennel Technicians are in charge of most of the duties in the kennels, including feeding, walking, cleaning cages and checking on the health, cleanliness and water for each pet being boarded. Kennel technicians are also in charge of general hospital cleanliness, basic maintenance and assisting the technicians or receptionists as needed with hospital projects. Kennel technicians receive training and are encouraged to grow with the position whenever possible. Kennel technicians are usually hired on a part-time basis and it does require alternating weekends.
